I don’t tend to write about myself very often – but I suppose that’s the purpose of this kind of page, isn’t it? Let’s see – I grew up in Oregon, after moving around a fair amount. I joined the US Coast Guard straight out of high school, and went as far away from home as I could get (on purpose). Nothing against home, or anything – I just wanted to see and do different things. I was in the Coast Guard for 7 years, working with some of the most amazing people – and meeting my future husband.
After getting out, I moved back home (ah, the irony) to go to school. Unbeknownst to me, my future intended requested to transfer there as well. Thinking that was all romantic and stuff, we got married a bit later on St. Patrick’s Day (I still swear eloping is THE BEST). It took me almost 10 years to get my BA, since we tended to transfer every 2 years or so. We now have 2 kids, one boy and one girl. One a teenager and one several years younger. Hubby retired from the Coast Guard several years ago after 25 years serving, and we settled in Oregon (again…irony) where the Teen is into robotics and the Princess is a gymnast.
As for me? I work part-time, and when I can – I craft. Hence this site/blog. I enjoy trying different things and I wanted a place to record those attempts – the ones that work, and the ones that don’t. Join me in the fun, and let’s see what we can make!
